Invitation to Participate in the Following Events with Africans United For Fall 2006.

Africans United will feel privileged if you join us in undergoing the programs we have planned for the semester so far. One of our main goals this semester is to bridge the hypothetical rivers we have between various cultures, ethnicity and race; and so all our programs for this academic year aims in drawing everyone together to have fun, make friends and learn new things.

These are our programs for October 2006 (as at now):

  1. Crossing Borders: We will be having a presentation and discussion about the differences between American and African culture at the T.V. Lounge in Ingersoll Hall on Wednesday, October 4th 2006. The program will start at 6.30pm with an array of African snacks and drinks. The program starts at 7.00pm with a movie, after which we will hold the discussion.
  2. I Rep Africa: On Thursday, October 5th 2006, we will mark the climax of the diversity conference which will be going on in CSU from 10/03 through 10/05 with our way of 'repping' Africa. We are all going to be fully clad in African wear for the entire day. It is a day that we've set aside to celebrate our culture by showing off our beautiful colors, unique prints and meaningful symbols in our own style of fashion. This day will be concluded with a social at our weekly meeting at the Lory Student Center in Room 210.

All these programs will be much more of a success if you join and encourage us with your participation. If you have any more questions, you can come to either of our next two meetings (Thursdays, Room 203-5, Lory Student Center, 5.00pm) or contact me by phone or email for more information.
